Aberration Cowl

The Aberration Cowl is the perfect accessory for when fall ushers in cooler air and you crave a hint of coziness in your wardrobe. The colorwork motif is inspired by the way old window glass turns the changing leaves into an impressionist painting of autumn hues. With a 2-stitch repeat that is easy to memorize, this cowl knits up quickly. Curate an assortment of harvest-hued yarns or let your stash inspire you to create a palette all your own. This pattern is a great stash buster!

  • Design & Construction: Aberration is a bandana cowl. It is initially knit flat and then joined to work in the round. Increases are worked along a center spine, and additional spines are created in the bottom third of the cowl to create a slightly fanned shape. The simple stranded colorwork motif uses 6 colors with no more than 2 colors worked at a time. Corrugated ribbing visually extends the colorwork to the very edge of the cowl.

Stitch Patterns: Some stitch patterns are only charted, so you should be confident in your chart reading skills—or be open to learning!
